Report: Humane Considering Sale Just One Month After AI Pin Release

The Humane AI Pin, which began shipping to customers just a month ago, is reportedly up for sale with a potential price tag of up to $1 billion.

Humane introduced its AI Pin, their debut and sole product, in November 2023. The device combines AI models, an Android operating system, and a unique laser projector to create an experience intended to be seamlessly integrated into daily life. Despite its promising concept, reviews of the AI Pin have been predominantly negative. Since its release in April 2024, customers have reported significant issues such as poor battery life, frequent overheating, and numerous software flaws.

According to a report from Bloomberg, Humane is now seeking to sell the company. Sources familiar with the situation state that Humane is in discussions with a financial advisor to explore a potential sale, aiming for a valuation between $750 million and $1 billion. The process is still in its early stages, and Humane has not yet confirmed these plans.

The rapid move to sell the company is notable, given the relatively short time since the product’s launch.

In the broader AI gadget industry, the Rabbit R1 is facing increased scrutiny due to emerging details about the founder’s past business practices.
