Google AI Powers Up Honor’s Next Smartphone Lineup

Google AI Powers Up Honor's Next Smartphone Lineup

Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL)

Google’s artificial intelligence features will be incorporated into upcoming Honor devices, the Chinese smartphone maker announced on Wednesday.

Honor plans to integrate generative AI capabilities into its new hardware by leveraging Google Cloud services.

This integration will include Google’s AI assistant, Gemini, and Imagen 2, a text-to-image generation tool, as cited by a spokesperson from Honor to CNBC.

The partnership with Google enables Honor to utilize advanced generative AI features, which are typically challenging for individual smartphone manufacturers to develop on their own.

Earlier in January, Samsung Electronics Co (OTC:SSNLF) also partnered with Google Cloud to integrate Gemini Pro and Imagen 2 into its devices.

Demonstrating its commitment to AI, Honor introduced the Magic 6 Pro in February, featuring an AI-driven capability that allows users to open apps by simply looking at their phones.

Meanwhile, analysts expect Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) to leverage Microsoft Corp (NASDAQ:MSFT), which supports ChatGPT parent OpenAI, to enhance Siri, despite Google’s advancements in AI.

Price Action: GOOGL shares traded lower by 1.08% at $175.96 at the last check on Wednesday.
