India Tried to Kill Its Most Wanted Man on Canadian Soil Too, Report Reveals

LONDON: Indian Government’s Failed Assassination Plot Against Sikh Leader in Canada Revealed

Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, leader of Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) and one of India’s most wanted individuals, was the target of a thwarted assassination attempt by the Indian government during a Sikh wedding in Canada.

Several months ago, the US government disclosed that it had prevented an Indian government plot to assassinate Pannun in New York. This revelation came around the time when Hardeep Singh Nijjar, Pannun’s friend and SFJ Canada leader, was killed. However, it has now come to light that the Indian government had also planned to assassinate Pannun at a wedding in Canada, where he was rumored to be in attendance.

Sikh insiders had anticipated that US-Canadian citizen Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, regarded as a top-priority target by India, would attend the wedding due to his close friendship with the groom’s father, long-time Khalistani activist Santokh Singh Khela.
