The Apple iPhone 16 Pro: A Closer Look at Its Size Increase
Recent images have surfaced showcasing the anticipated size increase of the Apple iPhone 16 Pro. While these aren’t the first visuals we’ve seen, they stand out as some of the clearest comparisons yet. The images feature the iPhone 16 Pro Max next to the iPhone 15 Pro, providing a comprehensive view from four different angles. Although the iPhone 16 Pro depicted here is likely a dummy unit, its dimensions are expected to be accurate.
Size Increase Illustrated in Four Images
You can check out the gallery below the article to see all four images. The iPhone 16 Pro is noticeably taller and wider compared to the iPhone 15 Pro. This increase in size is due to the larger display, which will be 0.2 inches bigger.
The iPhone 16 Pro is set to feature a 6.3-inch display, compared to the 6.1-inch display of the iPhone 15 Pro. While this might not seem like a substantial change, it does make the iPhone 16 Pro visibly larger and more substantial in hand.
Additionally, the iPhone 16 Pro will benefit from slightly thinner bezels thanks to new technology. However, these bezels will only be marginally thinner and won’t compensate for the overall increase in display size. The bezels on the iPhone 15 Pro are already quite slim.
New Camera Features
Beyond the size difference, the iPhone 16 Pro will introduce a new camera feature on the back. It will replace the regular telephoto shooter with a tetraprism lens, similar to the one found on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. This will be the primary hardware distinction between the two models.
Other than these changes, the iPhone 16 Pro is expected to closely resemble the iPhone 15 Pro in terms of design and features. Apple is unlikely to make significant camera hardware changes apart from the addition of the tetraprism lens.
Release Timeline
The entire iPhone 16 series, which includes the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max, is expected to be unveiled in September. Looking ahead, the iPhone 17 series is anticipated to bring more substantial changes.
