WhatsApp is introducing new features for beta users on Android, including a chat lock and an update for status tagging. The chat lock feature will now be available on linked devices, allowing users to secure their private chats across multiple devices. This addresses the issue where, previously, locked chats on the primary device remained accessible on secondary devices.
Additionally, WhatsApp users will soon be able to tag their contacts in status updates, enhancing the way they interact and share updates with their network.
In a related development, WhatsApp is also working on customization options for its iOS app. According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp will soon allow iOS users to customize the app’s main color palette and chat bubble colors. This feature, which was initially tested in January with a selection of five color schemes for the app, is now being expanded to include chat bubble color customization within conversations.
